Dennis Condor/Duple Metsec Double Deck Transit Bus

Model: 1989 Condor - Photo: august 2003 at London, England by John Veerkamp

The Dennis Dragon is the 3-axle 12-meter version of the Jubilant and only intended for export. From 1982-1999 some 1650 were built, all for Hong Kong operators with the exception of a handful for Malawi and Kenya. The buses built for China Motor Bus in Hong Kong were called Condor instead of Dragon. Several of these Condors have come as secondhand vehicles to London as open-top sightseeing buses. The bodywork is by Duple Metsec, which started out as a division of Duple producing body frames for assembly and finsihing overseas. After Duple had been taken over by Plaxton, Duple Metsec continued as an independet company but now has been absorbed by Transbus. This "Big Bus", seen in London, came from New World First Bus, China Motor Buses successor.
