Since the start of the new high-quality national Interliner network in 1994, 15-meter buses had been successfully used. BBA, the operator of the well-used services between Utrecht and several towns in Brabant province, decided to also buy 15-meter buses in 1996. However, they chose for the Volvo B10M mid-engined chassis, which has a better weight distribution and is thus more stable. The down side is the shorter wheelbase and the non-steering third axle, which make sharp turns rather difficult. Only six of these buses were built.
