Ikarus also produced a trolleybus version of the 200-series. However as trolleybus production under the COMECON agreement was mainly for Skoda from Czechoslovakia and ZIU from the Soviet Union, there are not too many Ikarus trolleybuses. The rigid 260T only exists in prototype form, but the articulated 280T is more widespread, mainly because ZIU and Skoda concentrated on the rigid buses, with the possibility of running them in pairs to increase capacity. The pictures show Ikarus 280T trolleybuses in service on the now defunct system of Weimar and on the still existing system of Eberswalde, both in the former German Democratic Republic.
