Most French trolleybus systems were closed during the 1960's, but the ones in Limoges, Marseille, St. Etienne, Grenoble, and Lyon were retained. In the 1970's/1980's these were modernized with a trolleybus version of the PR100, called the ER100. The buses in the various cities have differences in door layout and electrical equipment. The older ones have the PR100 style body, the newer ones the PR100.2 style. Shown is a bus in Marseille.
